Satyameva Jayate (Truth Alone Triumphs) : The Self is the sun shining in the sky, The wind blowing in space; he is the fire at the altar and in the home the guest; He dwells in human beings, in gods, in truth, and in the vast firmament; he is the fish born in water, the plant growing in earth, the river flowing down the mountain. For this Self is supreme! Katha Upanishad

Jean-Louis Murat - Mustang

Krishna says: “What is man’s will and how shall he use it? Let him put forth its power to uncover the Atman, not hide the Atman: man’s will is the only friend of the Atman: his will is also the Atman’s enemy.” The truth is that putting the force of the will into erroneous practices will hide the Truth from us even more, whereas applying the will in correct practice will reveal Divinity to us. For Divinity is inherent in the truth of the unity of the atman and Brahman. “The Self, whose symbol is OM, is the omniscient Lord." Bhagavad Gita–The Book of Life

360 Degree Spherical Panoramas In and Around Utah - Martin van Hemert
All degrees in nature reach out to utter self in willed activity. Self-willed tension or selving at any degree in the scale is uttered to be answered by doing, as pitch in being gives instress in activity. One type answers another. Hence, kingfishers flash to feed on dragonflies in a moment of exchanged fire; stones tumble into wells at a moment of ringing. Gerard Manley Hopkins

Dramatic or spectacular changes extract a heavy toll in any individual or society. After a point, many begin to feel uprooted, deracinated and buffeted by forces that, increasingly, strike like natural calamities, without notice, without scope for appeal or remedial action. The uprooted then come to see the new world unfolding before their eyes as one running on principles and conventions that are clearly disjunctive with the older moral order, ways of life, and familiar environment. It is not easy to live with such an experience and the result, often, is vague, unfocussed anger, anomie and anxiety - these become nagging, integral parts of the self. Vijay Tendulkar - Then and Now

Ne Me Quitte Pas - Nina Simone

psychopaths are free to steamroll their way into positions of social power or to commit the most heinous acts of violence without a flicker of guilt or remorse.
Lord, said David, why did you create these two worlds? Reality replied: O prisoner of time, I was a secret treasure of kindness and generosity, and I wished this treasure to be known, so I created a mirror: its shining face, the heart; its darkened back, the world; The back would please you if you've never seen the face. Has anyone ever produced a mirror out of mud and straw? Yet clean away the mud and straw, and a mirror might be revealed. Be Lost in the Call

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet. Rumi

I'm not scared of the road we should see, must taste from meander in the hollow of your breast and there everything will be ok. The wind will carry us. The caress and the grapeshot and that wound that tears us appart. The palace of everyday from yesterday and tomorow. The wind will carry them. This perfume of our dead years what can knock at your door infinity of destinies. We lay some but what do we retain? The wind will take it away. During the tide rises and everyone is doing its accounts I take in the hollow of your shadow dusts of you. The wind will carry them. Everything will disappear but the wind will carry us. Le vent nous portera - Noir Desir

Yo no se que me han hecho tus ojos (I don’t know what your eyes have done to me) - Francisco Canaro. Your eyes for me are the faithful reflection of a soul that in lovlng will love with frenzi. Your eyes are for me the light for my way that with faith will guide me through a pathof hopes and splendor because your eyes are, my love.

"We are crucified on one plane, while the world is many-dimensional. We are aware of that and are tormented by our inability to know the truth. But there is no need to know it. We need to know love and to believe. Faith is knowledge with the help of love." Andrei Tarkovsky often reflected on the way that time flies and wanted to stop it, even with his quick Polaroid shots. The melancholy of seeing things for the last time is the highly mysterious and poetic essence that these images leave with us. It is as though Andrei wanted to transmit his own enjoyment quickly to others. And they feel like a fond farewell. Instant Light

"...Any artist in any genre is striving to reflect as deep as possible a person’s inner world… I realized, quite unexpectedly for myself, that all these years I was doing one and the same thing and in essence I’m always interested in the same problems. Though I was making different types of films, all of them came to life for one reason — they had to tell about the inner duality of a human being. About his contradictory position between spirit and substance, between spiritual ideals and the necessity to exist in this material world." Andrei Tarkovsky
Tarkovsky accepts the very palpability of physical reality, lends a moral weight to it in its reproduction. Such a philosophical-methodological stance is articulated, appropriately enough for a filmmaker whose “spiritual” concerns would otherwise equate him with an otherworldliness, in a prayer from the diaries, reproduced next to a figure (Larissa, his wife) in Tarkovsky’s village of Myasnoye:
 Lord! I feel You drawing near, I can feel Your hand upon the back of my head. Because I want to see Your world as You made it, and Your people as You would have them be.

The image of the unseen hand on the back of the head suggests a puppet-master’s control of the head – the hand of the Lord literally directing the line of vision on the world.

Ivan's Childhood by Andrei Tarkovsky. A powerful motion picture about war. The 12-year-old Ivan's childhood ended the day the Fascists shot his mother and sister right before his eyes. Ivan's father was killed in the war. The orphaned boy joins an army detachment, becoming an elusive scout. Risking his life, he brings to his commanders invaluable information about the enemy. But one day he does not come back from his mission...

Julian Schnabel discusses the role of cinema in his life and the relationship between his filmmaking and painting processes. Eleanor Wachtel talks to Julian Schnabel.

The thought manifests as the word; The word manifests as the deed; The deed develops into habit; And habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care, And let it spring from love Born out of concern for all beings. Shakamuni Buddha

Phantoms In The Brain -  V.S. Ramachandran
Inside your brain, you combine your deep well of personal experiences, natural traits, and education to form your unique lens of mindset or habitual way of thinking. As the necessary tweaks to your mindset become increasingly minor and infrequent, your lens, like the ice, begins to solidify. In contrast to moods which can fluctuate, sometimes radically and instantly, mindset becomes, well... set. However,you can literally shrink and remove the destructive and limiting elements, and grow the enriching elements to create the sort of mindset people seek and admire. Here are the 72 elements, under three categories that comprise “The 3G Mindset". Paul Stoltz & James Reed
1- Global is about openness to new experiences and new ideas, as well as the ability to make new connections and to create new combinations. Global elements: Connectivity: Connected, broadminded, boundary-less, big picture, relationship-builder, collaborative, contributor, wise, interdependent, environmentally aware, streetwise, think beyond. Openness: Open, flexible, adaptable, embracing, diverse, agile, curious, innovative, creative, multi-cultural, holistic, think differently.
2-Good. This facet of mindset is about seeing and approaching the world in a way that truly benefits those around you. Good elements: Integrity: Honest, loyal, trustworthy, ethical, moral, authentic, dependable, temperate, solid, genuine, sincere, balanced. Kindness: Kindness, fairness, compassion, empathy, respect, humility, generosity, value driven, earnest, thoughtful, unbiased, value builder.
3- Grit is the fuel cell that propels you forward and brings your Mindset to life, even in the darkest moments. Grid elements: Growth: Learning, improving, evolving, striving, engaged, driven. Resilience: Resilient, risk taker, accountable, brave, courageous, optimistic. Intensity: Committed, focused, disciplined, passionate, purposeful, energetic. Tenacity: Tenacious, persistent, relentless, assertive, determined, resolute.

I am not the mind, intellect, thought, or ego;
Not hearing, not tasting, not smelling, not seeing;
I am not the elements–ether, earth, fire, air:
I am the form of Conscious Bliss: I am Spirit!

I am neither Prana, nor the five vital airs;
Nor the seven components of the gross body;
Nor the subtle bodies; nor organs of action:
I am the form of Conscious Bliss: I am Spirit!

I have no aversion, clinging, greed, delusion;
No envy or pride, and no duty or purpose;
I have no desire, and I have no freedom:
I am the form of Conscious Bliss: I am Spirit!

I have no merit or sin, nor pleasure or pain;
No mantra, pilgrimage, Veda or sacrifice;
Not enjoying, enjoyable, or enjoyer:
I am the form of Conscious Bliss: I am Spirit!

I have no death or fear, no distinction of caste;
Neither father, nor mother, nor do I have birth;
No friend or relation, guru or disciple:
I am the form of Conscious Bliss: I am Spirit!

I am without attributes; I am without form;
I am all-pervading, I am omnipresent;
By senses untouched, neither free, nor knowable:
I am the form of Conscious Bliss: I am Spirit!

When you are in tune (resonate) with a vibration that feels comfortabe to you, whether it is touching a sacred cloth, grotto, statue, photo, or feeling overwhelmingly embraced by pure love through music, and any other type of vibrational art, then a miracle can take place as you surrender. This is when the process of healing gets activated. Celestial Music - Frederic Delarue

Wifredo Lam, was a Cuban artist who sought to portray and revive the enduring Afro-Cuban spirit and culture. He held the belief that society focused too much on the individual and sought to show humanity as a whole in his artwork. To further his goal, he often painted mask-like faces. While Cuban culture and mythology permeated his work,it dealt with the nature of man.

in "the Jungle", Wifredo Lam's intention was to depict a spiritual state and sheds light on the absurdity that has become Afro-Cuban culture and more specifically on the way their traditions were cheapened for tourism. "I wanted with all my heart to paint the drama of my country, but by thoroughly expressing the negro spirit, the beauty of the plastic art of the blacks. In this way I could act as a Trojan horse that would spew forth hallucinating figures with the power to surprise, to disturb the dreams of the exploiters."

The Song of Ashtavakra:
18.19 The wise person who just goes on doing what presents itself for one to do, encounters no difficulty in either activity or inactivity.
18.20 One who is desireless, self-reliant, independent and free of bonds functions like a dead leaf blown about by the wind of causality.
18.21 There is neither joy nor sorrow for one who has transcended samsara. With a peaceful mind one lives as if without a body.
18.22 One whose joy is in oneself, and who is peaceful and pure within has no desire for renunciation or sense of loss in anything.
18.23 For the person with a naturally empty mind, doing just as one pleases, there is no such thing as pride or false humility, as there is for the natural man.
18.24 `This action was done by the body but not by me.' The pure-natured person thinking like this, is not acting even when acting.
18.25 One acts without being able to say why, yet is not thereby a fool, rather is one liberated while still alive, happy and blessed. Such a one thrives even in samsara.
