Prosperity is not about wealth or poverty. it is about fulfillment of your destiny. It is about clarity amidst distractions and diversions. It is about relationships that are mutually satisfying. It is a gift that comes with every soul. We already have prosperity as the Heavens have the Sun. If we turn toward the light we will be warmed and filled with energy. If we know the art to sense the whispers of our inner direction we can ask the world for what we need with confidence and complete success! The Aquarian Teacher by Yogi Bhajan
Do not believe in something because you are told to or because a holy person said it or you read it from a book. Follow and practice the teaching without prejudice. If it brings happiness to you and others and does not encourage self harm or harm to others then follow it. The Life Of The Buddha
Why does melody affect us so deeply, from the moment we are born? Tunes touch our deepest emotions, and are capable of inspiring love, sorrow, faith, and hope. But how does a melody actually work? In this film composer Howard Goodall looks at melody's basic elements. Why are some melodic shapes common to all cultures across the world? How Music Works
When the soul is attuned to God , every action becomes music. Inayat Khan
In my craft or sullen art, exercised in the still night, When only the moon rages and the lovers lie abed With all their griefs in their arms. I labour by singing light not for ambition or bread or the strut and trade of charms on the ivory stages. But for the common wages of their most secret heart. Not for the proud man apart from the raging moon I write on these spindrift pages. Nor for the towering dead with their nightingales and psalms. But for the lovers, their arms round the griefs of the ages, who pay no praise or wages nor heed my craft or art. Why Write? Dylan Thomas (Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night)
Meditation is a training program for the brain. Regular use may strengthen the connections between neurons and can also make new connections. These tiny changes, in thousands of connections, can lead to visible changes in the structure of the brain. Those structural changes, in turn, create a brain that is better at doing whatever you’ve asked it to do. Eileen Luders
if you practice focusing attention on your breath or a mantra, the brain will restructure itself to make concentration easier. If you practice calm acceptance during meditation, you will develop a brain that is more resilient to stress. And if you meditate while cultivating feelings of love and compassion, your brain will develop in such a way that you spontaneously feel more connected to others.
Our inability to notice things in our environment is called “attentional blink.” Even though your attention is a limited resource, you can learn to do more with the mental energy you already have with meditation. The general practice is to become aware of the present moment—by paying attention to sounds, your breath, sensations in your body, or thoughts or feelings—and to observe without judgment and without trying to change what you notice. The goal of meditation is not to get rid of thoughts or emotions. The goal is to become more aware of your thoughts and emotions and learn how to move through them without getting stuck. Kelly McGonigal
Yoga is the ending of disturbances of the mind. (Yoga Sutra, I.2)
Kelly McGonigal - The Willpower Instinct
Real growth of a civilization does not consist of increasing command over the physical or human environment, but development of intangible relationships involving both a simplification of the apparatus of life and also a transfer of interest and energy from material things to a higher sphere. Voluntary simplicity involves both inner and outer condition. It means singleness of purpose, sincerity and honesty within, as well as avoidance of exterior clutter, of many possessions irrelevant to the chief purpose of life.
Inherent in the nature of humans is the desire to improve and better ourselves. This process of going beyond our current limitations is often referred to as self transcendence. However self transcendence needs to involve an awareness that our success doesn’t just involve our “little I”, but also the universal self (or bigger “I”).“He who loses himself will find himself”. Spiritual seekers have experienced self transcendence as the grace that allows them to be aware of the infinite.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed. Albert Einstein

The leaves haven't even started falling, already there's such a chill in the air. Someone's got a kite on the wind mating calling. Soon there'll be no difference between the land and the water. I can walk on the ice to places I've never been. When I get as far as I can go. Oh, I'm gonna turn and throw my cares over my shoulder along with your memory. I'll just let it all float down the Gulf Stream. And I'll walk home singing My bonny lies over the ocean. C'mon bring back, bring back my bonny to me.
Every letter you write, every item you blog, every word you speak, every thought you think, every prayer or intention you utter, every loving or non-loving deed, every decision to do the right thing or not...is forming the world in which we live and which we all share. Zen Gardner

Devoid of wonder, a wonder pregnant with an attraction, we remain deaf to the sublime. It is this awe which awakens the ultimate question within us. What is the formula for the journey to the ultimate meaning of reality? Living the real. There is an experience, hidden yet implied, of that arcane, mysterious presence to be found within the opening of the eye, within the attraction reawakened by things, within the beauty of things, within an amazement, full of gratitude, comfort, and hope. Numbered among these things is myself as well–myself, in whom that presence which is concealed, hidden, becomes close, because it is here, forming me but also informing me of good and evil.
Now the question is this: How can this complex, yet simple, this enormously rich experience of the human heart–which is the heart of the human person and, therefore, of nature, the cosmos–how can it become vivid, how can it come alive? How can it become powerful? the formula for the journey to the meaning of reality is to live always the real intensely, without preclusion, without negating or forgetting anything. This relationship invites us to seek substance, a meaning and enables us to sense this presence that provides substance which things themselves are not. The more one lives this level of consciousness in his relationship with things, the more intense the impact with reality, and the more one begins to know mystery. The mark of great souls and persons who are truly alive is an eagerness for this search, carried out through their commitment to the reality of their existence. Luigi Giussani

World Peace Game: And Other 4th Grade Achievements - John Hunter and Chris Farina
The game begins (after a brisk reading from Sun Tzu’s The Art of War) with Hunter separating his class into four nations of varying wealth and resources, each with its own cabinet. There’s also a World Bank, a United Nations, and a slew of random elements, a volatile stock market, and a chaos agent whose job is to covertly sabotage everybody’s efforts. The game is further spiked with ethnic and minority tensions, arms proliferation, resource disputes, famine, coups, and environmental problems. Entering into what he describes as “this complex matrix”, Hunter’s students spend the next two months in energetic pursuit of world peace. Hunter teaches the concept of peace not as a utopian dream but as an attainable goal to strive for, and he provides his students with the tools for this effort. The children learn to collaborate and communicate with each other as they work to resolve the Game's conflicts. They learn how to compromise while accommodating different perspectives and interests. Most importantly, the students discover that they share a deep and abiding interest in taking care of each other. World Peace....and other 4th-grade achievements will inspire others by documenting the unheralded work of a true peacemaker.

It seem like happiness is just a thing called Joe. He's got a smile that makes the lilacs want to grow. He's got a way that makes the angels heave a sigh when they know little Joe's passing by. Sometimes the cabin's gloomy and the table's bare, but then he'll kiss me and it's Christmas everywhere. Troubles fly away and life is easy go. Does he love me good? That's all I need to know. Seems like happiness is just a thing called Joe. Judy Garland
Paul Simon - Under African Skies Graceland was one of the culturally and politically important albums ever made. Apartheid was a relatively abstract, distant political issue to many westerners. Graceland exposed the beauty of South African culture which had been repressed for so long. But look at what else is still going on Under African Sun
I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible; to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance, to live so that which came to me as seed goes to the next as blossom, and that which came to me as blossom, goes on as fruit. Dawn Markova

My soul.. Where are you? Do you hear me? I Speak.. I call you.. Are you there? I have Returned. I am here again. I have shaken the dust of all the lands from my feet, and I have come to you. I am with you..After long years, of long wondering, I have come to you, again. Should I tell you, everything I have seen? Experienced? or drank in? or do you not want to hear, about the noise of life and the world. But one thing you must know, the one thing I have learned, is that one must live his life..This life is the way, the long sought after way, to the unfamalable which we call divine. There is no other way. All other ways, are false paths. So I found the right way, to let it let me to you, to my soul. I've returned, tempted and purified. Do you still know me? How long, the separation lasted. Everything has come so different. And how did I find you? How strange my journey was. What words should I use to tell you, on what twisted path a good star has guided me to you. Give me your hand, My almost forgotten soul. How long, the joy, at seeing you again. You long disappointed soul. Life has let me back to you. Let us thank the life I have lived, for all the happy, and all the sad hours, For every joy, for every sadness. My soul, my journey, should continue with you..I will wonder with you, and ascend to my solitude..C.G. Jung

The Touré-Raichel Collective: Somewhere along the way, we have to let go of a cerebral focus on the rules and trust our instincts and our hearts. the ultimate goal of any musicians should be to internalize the basic rules of storytelling so deeply that their instincts take over as they make music, and the rhythm of a good story becomes as natural as the rhythm of our own breath.
